Sam studied visual Art at Cheltenham receiving a 1st Class BA Honours Degree, then went on to gain an MA in illustration from Kingston University in 2000. Sam began her professional career with commissions for Tatler magazine and soon began illustrating regularly for many other magazine titles and book publishers.
Sam's illustrations have been produced as window displays, in-store posters and as packaging for many well known retailers.
In 2015 Sam won a free stall at the Country Living Fair in Islington, through their kitchen table talent competition, selling her prints and greeting cards. After the success of this fair Sam launched her own label, using her original artwork to create homewares inspired by the English Countryside.
Using traditional printmaking craftsmanship Sam captures the rich flora and fauna of the Cotswolds, where her studio is based, into beautiful designs. Delicate flowers, nimble hares and happy blackbirds are adapted onto fabrics, bone china and stationery. All of our products are proudly made in England.
With her husband Mark, they are now working together to build their brand, Sam Wilson is already stocked in over 200 luxury stores, galleries and independent gift shops throughout the UK and abroad.
In 2017 Sam spotted a To Let sign in a very old fashioned and historic shop in her local town of Chipping Campden - it was love at first sight! After scrubbing away years of grime and restoring years of neglect they opened their first store, showcasing the whole collection.
